🏃♂️ Run for 1 Million (R41M)
In 2023, Josh Patterson became the first person to run a marathon in all 76 UK cities. He also broke the Guinness World Record for ‘most cities to run a marathon distance in on consecutive days’. Josh undertook the challenge to inspire people struggling with mental health issues. He raised over £320,000 for Samaritans.
Organising a marathon in a different city every day for several months was a constant cycle of new problems that needed solving. In logistics, there’s a fine line between getting it right and getting it wrong – often the former gets overlooked and the latter is all too eagerly emphasised. Keeping this operation running smoothly for 76 days is one of my proudest achievements to date.
Below is a collection of things I wrote and shared on Instagram during the challenge.
