🔗 Merging workouts in Final Surge
Once you’ve completed a training session on the device linked to your Final Surge account (ie your GPS watch or Strava), Final Surge will automatically merge the completed workout with the planned workout in your programme that day.
There are occasions on which you may wish to unmerge the planned and completed workouts. For example, if you separately recorded your warm up and/or cool down and those activities have merged with the planned workout, rather than the workout itself. Or, you may have completed a different training session on that day, but hadn’t yet moved the planned sessions around in your training programme.
Fortunately, manually merging and unmerging planned and completed workouts in the Final Surge smartphone app is straightforward.
⛓️💥 How to unmerge workouts
First, head to the “Calendar” view of your training programme in the Final Surge mobile app and tap on the merged session that you would like to unmerge.
Next, tap on the three dots in the top right of the workout description screen.
On the next screen, tap “Unmerge”.
A confirmation message will appear, asking if you’re sure you want to unmerge this workout.
Tap “Yes, Unmerge”.
That’s it! The planned and completed workouts are now unmerged and will appear separately in the calendar view your training programme, allowing you to move the date of the planned workout if required.
Once you’ve unmerged the workouts and changed the dates (if required), you can then merge the correct completed workout with the correct planned workout.

Next, tap on the three dots in the top right of the workout description screen.
On the next screen, tap “Merge”.
The following screen will then show the planned workouts scheduled for that day. Select the planned workout you wish to merge, then tap the red “Merge” confirmation button that appears.
That’s it! When you go back to the Calendar view of your training programme, the correct completed workout will be merged with the correct planned workout.
